Ian Foddering

Ian Foddering is the Chief Technology Officer and Technical Director for Cisco in the UK and Ireland. Together with his technical teams, his key objective is to work with Cisco’s Customers and Partners to articulate how Cisco’s architectures and solutions can be applied to drive business transformation.
Ian is also the technical lead and spokesperson for Cisco in their role as the Official Network Infrastructure provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as leading the British Innovation Gateway, Cisco’s 5 year plan to creating a legacy around the Games, driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the UK.
Ian has a passion for technology, and the positive impact it has on society, fervently believing we are still only at the being of what is possible with respect to the power of ICT.
After joining Cisco in 1999, Ian has held various roles including systems engineer, systems engineering management, sales management, channel management, and leading advance technology teams.
Prior to joining Cisco in September 1999, Ian spent 4 years at Cogent, the professional services arm of Nortel, working on a number of predominately large Public Sector solutions.
Ian studied Communications Systems Engineering from the University of Portsmouth. He lives, with his family, in Hertfordshire and enjoys participating and watching sport, cars and travelling.
Tim Plyming
Project Executive for Digital, Editor of Live Sites, and Project Director for Ultra HDTV
BBC London 2012 Project Team
Tim leads the day-to-day activity of the Digital Olympics project, which is responsible for the delivery of all 2012 content across all digital platforms including online, mobile and connected TV. As editor of 2012 Live Sites, he's also responsible for developing the strategy for outdoor public display screens. Finally, Tim is also project director for the Ultra HDTV project, which will show the Games in Super Hi-Vision in locations in the UK, Japan and USA.
Tim started his career working on the first Internet editions of News International titles before moving to BBC radio and BBC Electric Proms.
Steven Kirkpatrick
Managing Director, General Staffing Adecco
Steven Kirkpatrick was appointed Managing Director of General Staffing in October 2009. Prior to this, Steven led Spring Group’s General Staffing division, after moving from Adecco where he initially joined as a consultant in Belfast in 1998.
Whilst at Adecco, he became the Country Manager for Ireland before moving up the ranks to become Managing Director in 2005. Steven also worked as Managing Director of the specialist banking and finance recruitment company; Jonathan Wren (now Ajilon).
Steven has spent time in corporate sales and, before becoming involved with recruitment, had an early career in media advertising with the Irish News, a morning newspaper in Northern Ireland.
Tim Boden
Technology Director, BT London 2012 Delivery Programme
Tim Boden is one of the longest-serving people on London 2012 having worked with LOCOG since 2006, firstly leading the delivery aspects of BT’s bid to be the communications sponsor of the Games, and then, after the award of the sponsorship contract in 2008, as the Technical Director of the Delivery Programme.
He is also responsible for the communications services being delivered to Press and Broadcasters during the Games - assuring the integrity of the designed services being delivered to LOCOG and its Rate Card customers.
Prior to 2006, he was CTO for the Government sector of BT Global Services in the UK, specifically working with the Department of Work and Pensions and responsible for its then ground-breaking converged network strategy. Overall he has over 30 years of industry experience covering technical architecture, programme management, consultancy and proposition marketing.
Tim relaxes with an annual trekking trip to remote parts of the world. His aim is to trek on all seven continents in 7 years, so far this has taken him to Bhutan in the Himalayas, The Atacama Desert and High Andes in Chile, climbing active volcanoes in Guatemala, and a trip to Morocco that included both 4 days in the Sahara and a winter ascent of Mount Toukbal.
